# Mission: Pass tomorrow's FSM test on absolute values and factorising

## Why
A Grade 10 Further Studies Mathematics learner missed many classes and writes a test on Saturday 31 October 2026. She needs to walk in able to solve absolute value questions and, above all, to recognise which factorising rule from the course notes fits a given question.

## Success looks like
- Solves absolute value equations, including the "get it alone", restriction and no-solution cases (abs.pdf p.2)
- Gives the shape and salient point of y = a|x − p| + q and sketches it (abs.pdf pp.3–7)
- Names the right factorising rule for a mixed expression before writing (term1.pdf pp.1–4, 23–28)
- Factorises fully, including cubics with the factor theorem and synthetic division
- Scores at least 10/14 on the mixed practice test (lesson 4)

## Constraints
- One evening (about 2 hours), the night before the test
- Use the course notes' rules, notation (e.g. (p; q), x ∈ (a; b)) and terminology

## Out of scope
- Probability (skipped at the parent's request)
- Partial fractions, algebraic fractions, complex numbers, completing the square (other parts of Term 1/2)
